About Neil Gladstone

I have always been interested in the intersection between individuals and organizational dynamics. I began my professional career as a psychotherapist (with an MSW from Simmons School for Social Work) and worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups at Children’s Friend and Family Service and Salem Hospital. My interest in organizations led me to attain an MBA from Boston University with concentrations in Marketing and Organizational Behavior. For ten years, I managed the Health Resources (now AllOneHealth) Employee Assistance Program, which provides counseling, training, and management consultation services to organizations. I developed and expanded the program into a national provider with over 500 affiliates. As a Senior Consultant with the Organizational Effectiveness practice of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, I worked with corporations to develop large-scale organization development and training initiatives in such areas as leadership development, coaching, and team building; and consulted to non-profit boards. In addition, I directed Member Services for NorthPoint Domain, a healthcare software startup that enables medical organizations to leverage the Internet.

Throughout my career in management, I have maintained a private clinical practice, and I particularly appreciate the deep personal connection of psychotherapy in contrast to the more instrumental role of management. I find that each role informs the other. As a manager, my psychological understanding of individuals and groups provides awareness of how to lead and motivate individuals and teams. My business background enables me to better understand my clients’ work-life and the typical challenges that managers and employees experience while working within organizations. I especially enjoy the process of continual learning and growth for both my clients and myself.
